An ice storage room (also called an ice silo or ice bunker) is an insulated chamber that holds ice produced by an industrial ice plant for later use. It is fitted with an automatic discharge mechanism — typically a rake delivery system or screw conveyor — that moves ice on demand to dispatch trucks, packing lines, or downstream process equipment.
Praj ice storage rooms use 100–150 mm PUF (polyurethane foam) insulation panels with SS 304 stainless-steel interior cladding. The interior is sloped to drain melt water and fitted with floor heaters to prevent ice bridging.
Capacity is custom-sized to match your ice plant TPD and dispatch schedule — typically 6 m³ of storage per TPD of plant capacity for 24-hour buffer storage.
