A shell and tube condenser is a water-cooled heat exchanger used in industrial refrigeration to reject heat from compressed refrigerant gas to circulating cooling water. Refrigerant flows on the shell side; water flows through the tubes.
Praj shell and tube condensers are available with cupro-nickel or SS 304 tubes for ammonia systems, and copper or carbon steel tubes for HFC (R404A / R22) systems. Design pressure is typically 25 bar for HFC and 28 bar for ammonia.

Which tube material should I choose?
For ammonia systems: SS 304 (any water) or carbon steel (treated water). For HFC systems: copper (soft water) or cupro-nickel (hard/brackish water).
What is the design pressure?
25 bar for HFC systems, 28 bar for ammonia. Hydro-test at 1.5× design pressure per IS 2825.
Can I use cooling-tower water?
Yes. Standard cooling-tower water (treated) is the default. For hard or brackish water, specify cupro-nickel tubes. For seawater, use titanium tubes (custom build).
What capacity range?
10 TR up to 500+ TR. Standard sizes from 30 TR to 200 TR; larger units to order.
Do you handle ammonia compliance?
Yes. Praj follows IS 660 ammonia refrigeration plant design rules and integrates safety relief, ventilation and ammonia detector interlocks where required.
